  • Fly, Raven, fly
A dark moon turns a blind eye
A drifting cloud tells a white lie
As you, Raven, write the Book of Sky

Leave no trace but a song
    Nobody is here for long
Leave no trace but a song

Pine trees in the soft wind
    Needles gently swaying
Through the night will be dancing
As they write the Book of Mountain

Leave no trace but a song
    Nobody is here for long
Leave no trace but a song

    Gazing at my reflection
    In the flowing water
    Looking at the worst enemy
I will ever have to face

    Flow and flow, running water
    Gone forever
    Still the gentle rain
Will write the Book of River

Leave no trace but a song
    Nobody is here for long
Leave no trace but a song

Sentinel

Sentinel addresses themes of death and immortality. It explores mourning and the legacy of a mission, without the latter being defined in itself, leaving room for interpretation. Echoing the launch of Leave No Trace on a winter solstice, the premiere of Sentinel took place on June 21, the day of the summer solstice.

  • Stand vigil
    Stand vigil
    If you will
    The old sentinel
    Is fading away

    How can he still defend
    What we have all forgotten
    A safeguard so brave
    Weapon at the ready
    In the drifting snow

    How do you say goodbye
    To a man
Who’s already dancing in the sky

    Stand vigil
    Stand vigil
    If you will
    The old sentinel
    Gave the word
    To his son, the wanderer
    Relieve me of duty
Take my place and stay the course…

    Mazes and routes
Closed spaces like memories from the body
Bone china prisons where tea used to be served
River in which Narcissus gazed at himself
    Battlefields of our indifferences
    Gypsy roads
    Eternal faces and places
    Broken up and bitten landscapes
    Walls of silences
Sands that slip through our fingers
Secret gardens where one goes to cry
    Tender or cruel masquerades
    Strange parodies and jesters’ laughter
    Magic lamps and hurricane lanterns
    Trajectories of celestial objects
Winter solstice where Venus lay down to sleep

    Stand vigil
    Stand vigil
    If you will
    The old sentinel
    Is fading away
He’s been called upon by the magic lady
Who paints the heavens in the northern sky
